Tracy lives on Boaz Road.  Their house was BARELY missed by the tornado.  They sustained minor damage...

This is her story..

I look back now that we were so totally blessed - my aunt was in the hospital in Paducah and my mom and dad live about two hours away and everyone was watching it minute by minute while we were under our house and was praying for us.  It is weird when you look back because we were watching American Idol on fox  and when we tried to turn our satellite back on it wouldn't come on which meant we had to watch regular channels 3, 6 12.  They were beginning to cover the storm around 8:30 p.m. and Andrew decided he was going to practice his kareoke in the living room and I made him take it to his bedroom and I kept watching that little bit of red and yellow that was going to hit Massac County (which was us).  You know we only heard about it hitting Mounds City and something inside Toby and I was get the kids out and when we went outside it had been raining and thundering and lightening and it was as calm as it could be.  As soon as we got under the house then we heard the roars and it sounded like a jet plane whining.  It was about 9:50 when it started.  We heard it and it sounded like there was at least 3 or 4 because I remember asking Toby "How many of these things are there?"  It then stopped and about 15 seconds later it started back up and we thought it was coming up from behind our house - which is where we had most of the damage.  Toby got out first to check things out and he heard someone screaming and it was a lady in her car on top of a tree in front of our house.  He told me to call 911.  I did and the operator said they had several ambulance and police be called out to the area.   Toby and one of our neighbors heard her screaming and went and helped her and her children get out.  My little girl slept through the tornado but woke up as we were crawling out from under the house.  To this day - she says mommy why was that lady crying was she hurt did the storm hurt her.    She says this at least once  a day especially when we drive by the left overs of the tree.
