Red Cross Heroes Campaign
We are going to be running a Heroes Campaign here in Paducah. The fund raiser won't be until March of 2006. It will take a lot of planning though. We are hoping to raise more than $60.000 dollars. This will be the largest Red Cross fund raiser in this chapters history! Lofty goals for the year ahead!
Here’s
how it works:
Anyone may become a HERO by pledging to raise or donate $1000 in financial support to the American Red Cross of the McCracken County Chapter.
These HEROES are recruited locally from town to town and set a goal to raise $65,000 in the community.
During this campaign, the HEROES and team of campaign supporters work together to reach their fundraising goals and raise awareness about the American Red Cross of the Delmarva Peninsula.
Each HERO can raise his or her contribution in their own way, by holding bake sales or car washes, collecting donations from friends and neighbors or by simply donating personal funds.
We are very excited about this fund raiser. I will post more information during the upcoming months! I am on the committee to help with ideas and implementing the program. This is the first time the McCracken County Chapter has been involved in this type of fund raiser!
I am going to see about getting Channel Six to help us out. Perhaps they can be a partner in this. Their motto is "making a difference"

90 degree weather coming? Perhaps upper 80s on Wednesday and Thursday. Not nice. Muggy weather. Perhaps some storms for the weekend. Watching that closely for severe weather.

Television show this morning at PCC. Will be talking about tornado safety and the American Red Cross.
Huge storms last night in Nebraska and Iowa. Looks like we will get in on the action on Friday and Saturday. Could be some severe thunderstorms. Will be watching.
Had a great dinner with Julie and Danny last night. We went to this new lodge over in Pulaski County. It is almost walking distance from their new house. Will post some photos later. We then watched a movie at their house. You can see every star in the sky out there! Really neat.

Well it was HOT yesterday. We made it all the way up to 91 degrees here in Lone Oak! EEK! A bit early for that kind of warmth. This comes after our 30s last week. Next week looks cool again! Big storms possible on Friday and Saturday. Will continue to watch that.
