This is my little
space, my little world, my thoughts, my dreams, my happiness, my
sorrows, my
laughter, my tears,
my life as it was yesterday, is today, and will be tomorrow
Yeesh this is going to be a busy week. Packing,
getting everything finished at the house here, dealing
with the bank on the two apartments, meetings at the Red
Cross and with Tony! Lot of activity this week.
Should keep me busy I guess. I did take my
mid-term yesterday...I think that wraps everything up
for this week. I worked ahead! July will be
a busy month. Looking forward to all of it.
Can't wait to see my friends in Florida and Canada!!!
Very excited.
Man I get Goosebumps every single time I listen to this!
Paul Potts is
(WAS!!!!) a mobile-phone salesman in South Wales. A very
average guy who loves to sing, with a dream of being an
opera singer.
You can watch below his moving audition and semi-final
performance in the UK show, "Britain's Got Talent":
Mark this as one of the top 10 things I want to do :)
See this guy in perform in person!
If anyone sees a CD
from this guy in the coming months then let me know.
I know he is going to be making one. What an
incredible story.
HA someone sent me this...and this about sums up life in
America!
Those Born 1930-1979
READ TO THE BOTTOM FOR QUOTE OF THE MONTH BY JAY LENO.
IF YOU DON'T READ ANYTHING ELSE---VERY WELL STATED
TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED the 1930's, 40's, 50's,
60's and 70's!!
First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked
and/or drank while they were pregnant.
They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a
can, and didn't get tested for diabetes.
Then after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our
tummies in baby cribs covered with bright colored
lead-based paints.
We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or
cabinets and when werode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to
mention, the risks we took hitchhiking.
As infants & children, we would ride in cars with no car
seats, booster seats, seat belts or air bags.
Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always
a special treat.
We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a
bottle.
We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one
bottle and
NO
ONE actually died from this.
We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank
Kool-aid made with sugar, but we weren't overweight
because,
WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING!
We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as
long as we were back when the streetlights came on.
No one was able to reach us all day. And we were
O.K.
We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps
and then ride down the hill, only to find out
We forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a
few times, we learned to solve the problem.
We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no
video games at all, no 150 channels on cable, no video
movies or DVD's, no surround-sound or CD's, no cell
phones, no personal computer! S, no Internet or chat
rooms.......
WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!
We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and
there were no lawsuits from these accidents.
We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms
did not live in us forever.
We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up
games with sticks and tennis balls and, although we were
told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes.
We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked
on the door or rang the bell, or just walked in and
talked to
Them!
Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the
team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with
disappointment. Imagine that!!
The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law
was unheard of. They actually sided with the law!
These generations have produced some of the best
risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever!
The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation
and new ideas.
We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and
we learned HOW TO DEAL WITH IT ALL!
If YOU are one of them...CONGRATULATIONS!
You might want to share this with others who have had
the luck to grow up as kids, before the lawyers and the
government regulated so much of our lives for our own good.
While you are at it, forward it to your kids so they
will know how brave (and lucky) their parents were.
Kind of makes you want to run through the house with
scissors, doesn't it?!
The quote of the month is by Jay Leno:
"With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud
slides, flooding, severe
Thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to
another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist
attacks, are we sure this is a good time to take God out
of the Pledge of Allegiance?"
Looking at these houses with Tony for New Horizons.
All of them are in Mayfield. I guess Mayfield is
going to
be the "happenin" place.
Looks like scattered storms around again today...some
locally heavy with lots of lightning and strong winds.
We did pick up 0.30" of rain overnight! Not bad.
At least it is better than nothing. We still need
about five or six inches to catch up.

It's Tuesday. Four more days and I will be seeing
Kristy! It has been awhile...I think we have a lot
to catch up on at the beach. :) Then just a
few more days until I see David. YAY :)
Seems like FOREVER! Then eventually I shall make
it over to Toronto to see my friends there. It has
been awhile!
Hot out already this morning...yeesh -
feels like SUMMER! BRING ON WINTER! SNOW!
One more day until I get my mid-term grade.
Tick-Toc-Tick-Toc :)
Had a GREAT lunch and visit with Julie today. It
has been awhile! We went downtown in the flood to
eat. IT POURED down there but not a drop here at
the house. Reports of water as high as car doors
in the downtown area. No warnings or statements
from Paducah though. Couple of severe storms
around as well today.
Julie is doing great. We
were able to catch up on life in the fast lane!
Trying to work out everything around the house here
before I leave. I feel like I am going in five
directions!!!! I am getting more and more excited
by the day. Can't wait to see everyone. I
think I might explode soon! LOL :)

The squirrels are getting too smart. They stole
the glass out of the squirrel box and thus opened up the
whole supply of corn. So I went out there and put
it back in...and added some duct tape. I am
starting to think they are plotting against me though.
I feel them watching me. It is just a matter of
time before they see me coming with the bag of corn and
attack. :)
TEST RESULTS DAY...we get our mid-term grades today.
I am anxious to see how I did. Biting nails!!
WELLLLLL I got an 88 on the test...so that is a B.
Better than I thought. I can live with that!
Evening...
Packing and more packing...what are you
supposed to pack for this long? Yeesh! I
think I will try and leave the kitchen sink here.
:) Time is ZIPPPPPPING along. Yeesh...Friday
we will be in Alabama picking up Kristy and heading
south!
Looks like some big rains for our region on Thursday.
Hoping at least.
Meeting at the bank tomorrow to close on the first
set of apartments. Excited about that of course!
