Tuesday, January 16th.

Well January continues to chug along.  No complaints here...other than the lack of snow.  That may soon change as a potential winter storm threatens the region this weekend.  I won't get TOOOOOO excited though as these things seem to find a way to miss us.  Looks good right now though for several inches of frozen precip.

Let's keep hope alive that WINTER will ARRIVE.

Otherwise life is moving along.  School has started and that is going well.  Learning more about geography this semester.  Always a good thing...especially since I like to travel.   Climate is the other class.

WINTER STORM APPROACHING THE REGION

Snow should develop across the entire region on Saturday Night and continue into Sunday.  There is the potential for a widespread 1-3 inches of snow with a band of 2-4 inches of snow across our region.  Too early to determine which counties will be hit the hardest.  Some freezing drizzle is also possible according to the NWS.  Something to keep an eye on. 

Our first winter storm of the season?  Possibly!

STUPID WEATHER :(  We just can't get snow here this year.  Every forecaster busted.  No snow fell here in Paducah.  My second snow forecast bust in a month.  TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRBILE.

EXTREMELY cold air on the models after this week...say around day 10 or 11.  Long way off but something we can watch :)  Below zero to teens type weather for a large area of the United States.  Guess if we give up on winter then perhaps it will finally arrive.

SNOW IS COMING SNOW IS COMING

Where have we heard that before?  Oh yeah...me!  Well this time it is for real.  I know...I know - the last few times I said it would snow it didn't.  BUT THIS IS DIFFERENT.  REALLY.  IT IS.  Snow on Thursday into Friday and several inches will be possible.  NOW if this storm is a bust then I will not say the word snow until next winter.  I promise...with my fingers crossed.

SNOW IS STILL ON THE WAY - TONIGHT AND TOMORROW AFTERNOON/EVENING 1-3"

Five surgeons are discussing who makes the best patients to operate on. The first surgeon says, "I like to see accountants on my operating table because when you open them up, everything inside is numbered." The second responds, "Yeah, but you should try electricians! Everything inside them is color coded." The third surgeon says, "No, I really think librarians are the best, everything inside them is in alphabetical order." The fourth surgeon chimes in: "You know, I like construction workers. Those guys always understand when you have a few parts left over at the end, and when the job takes longer than you said it would." But the fifth surgeon shut them all up when he observed: "You're all wrong. Politicians are the easiest to operate on.
