Pretty intense couple of weeks.  The tornado outbreak about wore me out.  Lot of adrenal during all of that.  Seems like those outbreaks come in waves around these parts.  I am hoping that November won't bring another big outbreak like the last few years.  Last year was the F4 here in Western KY.  I was in Toronto when that hit.  I will only be away a few days in November of this year.  So of course whatever happens will happen while I am in Miami.

Crazy roller-coaster during the past eight or nine days.  Major battle, again, with depression.  It was a weird disease...the way it comes and then disappears.  No way to explain it really.  There is no rhyme or reason behind it.  It just shows up on day and then you are caught up in this dark shroud...sort of like falling in a well.  You can't see anything but these walls.  It doesn't matter if you want to snap out of it...it doesn't matter if you are in the middle of something that should be happy...it doesn't matter what is going on around you.  The doors slam shut and there you are.  In the middle of this room, surrounded by walls.

For anyone who has had to battle depression they will understand the above paragraph.  It is a common theme among millions of people.  Thankfully things are a bit better now.  :)  I am always glad to come out of one of those spaces.  I am also happy that this time around I seemed to handle it a bit better than past events.  I tried to convince myself, of that which is true, that there would be an end.  There would come a morning when I would feel better again.  There would come a day when the sun would be bright and the birds would sing in the morning.  I just had to wait it out.  And so it did...:)

School is going well.  The classes are a bit more intensive than I realized.  Seems like I spend a lot of hours every week working on labs and homework (and tests).  My mid-terms are coming up this weekend and next week.  I am not looking forward to those.  I don't mind the tests so much.  I hate mid-terms though.  :)  I will prob go ahead and take my geo test tomorrow.   Get that out of the way and then I can concentrate on Meteorology.

Winter coming early this year?  Looks like several cold shots in the coming weeks.  Perhaps we can get a widespread frost before this is all said and done.

STORMS NEXT WEEK?

MONSTER storm system on the maps for next week.  LONG way off though and plenty of time for things to change.  IF the GFS model verifies then we could see some strong storms through this region on Wednesday/Thursday.  The bigger story MAY be the COLLLDDDD air behind the front!  LOT of time to watch this one.  SNOW up north?  :)

Soooo ummm this package comes today and I was like "wow what is that" :)  I had ordered something yesterday and thought...well that was fast!  So we open up this bog box (there was two of them) and PEANUTS went everywhere.  Thousands of peanuts.  Those little foam peanuts.  Anyway we cleaned most of them up after we took everything out of the box and realized that this box did not actually belong to us :)

Before it was over we had to empty allllll the
peanuts onto the floor and then repackage everything!

North Korea LIKELY to test Nuclear Weapon this weekend.  Not good.

Teaching Red Cross Class today...Family Service. :)  Long class...unsure on how many people are going to be there.  Hopefully they have a good crowd.

Trying to find some new teddy bears from RUSS Bears for the Shadow Angel Foundation.  All of my "regular" bears have been retired.  :)   Soooooo I need to find some new ones.  These will go to the Rape Crisis Center and Child-Watch of Western Kentucky.  Need about 500-1000 bears!

BEAUTIFUL day outside!  It was BEAUTIFUL on Friday as well!!!!!  Love this weather.  Hold on though because DRAMATIC changes are ahead.  We could see SNOW in Missouri and Illinois by the end of next week and VERY cold temperatures across this entire region.  A strong cold front will push through the region on Wednesday and Thursday bringing the first shot of POLAR air of the season!  A bit early for that.  There is the potential for a strong line of storms along the front.  High winds would be the biggest threat.

Models are showing a near historic storm for the Northern Plains and Ohio Valley.

THE MEEEGGGGGAAAA STORM on the models!  That is a MONSTER low.

WELLLLL not enough people to have class yesterday.  I guess we will try again later!  Too bad because we need to get that one finished.  Hopefully we can do it again in a few weeks.

I am ready for a road trip.  New England perhaps?  :)  I am in snow mode now!  A bit early for that, at least in this region.  Looks like that monster storm system will bring some cold air down into this region.  I am expecting some squally weather on Wednesday and Thursday.  Strong winds and some rain/thunderstorms.  Not expecting anything huge though.  Severe weather will be limited due to lack of instability.  The frontal system will likely have blustery winds with it though.  Gusts over 40 mph are possible across our region.  It should be a fairly impressive frontal passage!.  Temperatures will likely fall into the 30s later this week.  A few areas could see upper 20s.  This will likely bring our first FROST :) to Western Kentucky and Southern Illinois.

Looks like we have sold our first house :)  Hopefully!  I will know for sure either today or tomorrow.

My first Mid-Term went well.  Now I have to take one more.  Not looking forward to that one as much!  It will likely be the harder of the two.

Kristy is coming this weekend!  Her third visit in two months.  The other two times she was here in spirit.  :) hehe  We are having a costume party on Saturday Night...so she better make it this time!  I KNOW YOU ARE READING THIS.  :)

Now we have to figure out what my mom is going to dress up as!  I am going as a Pirate :)

Anyhoo...that is the Sunday Morning update.  Still trying to put together a large teddy bear order.  I need about 500-1000 bears!  That is a LOOTTTTTTTTTT of bears.  Trying to pick out some good ones.  The ones I used to order have retired to Yellowstone.  :)

If anyone is missing two large boxes with medical equipment :) then please contact me because they are in my garage.  According to UPS this is where they were supposed to go. :)

SUNDAY NIGHT

NORTH KOREA TESTS NUCLEAR DEVICE.

The world has forever changed if this is true.  A new arms race is upon us...both in Asia and the Middle East.

ALARM - Earth tremor felt in South Korea

SEOUL - the services of South Korean information observed an earth tremor magnitude 3,58, indicated to Monday a spokesman of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, after the confirmation by the North Korea which it had carried out a nuclear test.

BREAKING NEWS: Eisenhower Carrier Group Sails for Iran Theater

The nuclear-powered aircraft carrier Eisenhower and its accompanying strike force of cruiser, destroyer and attack submarine slipped their moorings and headed off for the Persian Gulf region on Oct. 2.

The Eisenhower strike force is scheduled to arrive in the vicinity of Iran around October 21, at the same time as a second flotilla of minesweepers and other ships.

This build-up of naval power around the coast of Iran, according to some military sources, is in preparation for an air attack on Iran that would target not just Iran's nuclear enrichment facilities, but its entire military command and control system.
