SEPTEMBER AND FALL HAS ARRIVED!
Okay can I get a shout out for FALLLLLLLLLLLLL :) One of my favorite seasons! Of course Winter is my favorite season...SNOW SNOW SNOW! The way I see it, though, this just means we are one step closer to WINTER! Meteorological Fall started on September 1st. It runs through the end of November. Then we enter winter! I am already starting to think SNOW! We will have to go through our Fall Severe Weather Season. Hopefully it won't be as bad as last year. Last year brought killer tornadoes to this region...in November :( SOOOO Let's pull for a non-eventful second season.
Life around Ashcreek has been busy...with school. School is about three or four times more work than I planned. Which is fine. But still :) Something new to keep me busy I guess!
The NBC 6 Katrina series turned out great. They aired my story on Sunday Night, Monday Morning, and Monday Noon. They actually did a good job of putting it together. They did a five day series on Katrina and the aftermath. My interview was dealing with Houston and the Astrodome.
Have not been down to the Red Cross in awhile. They had a nice fundraiser last week...the car wash (see photos on previous page). I believe they raised about $1000 dollars - give or take. We need about $5000 for the project...radio project.
We need more volunteers working on raising money. It seems to be our biggest problem. A few people doing all the work...we need about 20-30 more volunteers that will get the job done. Slowly but surely...we shall get there.
Did well on my first two exams in Geography and Intro to Meteorology. Hopefully I did well on the first quarter test...won't know that till the 13th of September.
I will be leaving for Washington DC to receive a national honor award...not supposed to say what it is yet. Some of you know already :) I will be more excited to see David again. Somehow we have to fix this problem of most of my friends living in Toronto :( and me living down here.
I need to live in Toronto part of the year and then down here the rest of the year. That would help. Now we just have to move David to Toronto!
What a freakin year :) Where has the time gone? It seems like it was just Christmas :( Now it is almost Christmas again! How does that happen. I just don't know.
Daisy is growing BIGGER...well a little bigger. Nothing HUGE or anything. She could lose a pound though...well maybe 1/2 pound!
The FALL like weather is AWESOME! I am loving every minute of it. The last two days have been BEAUTIFUL!
