We headed out today to see the new Panda Bear Cubs. They were brought to an area outside of Shanghai yesterday. They are a few weeks old...but have already grown fairly large. There are only 1500 Panda Bears left in the world. There are a few in captivity. People continue to move into "their" territory and they are slowly being killed off. It is very likely that we will not have them around much longer. They are beautiful bears. This is the first time I have ever seen a Panda Bear :) Let alone cubs!
It took more than an hour to drive to the area...it is a wildlife preserve park. We got about four to five feet away from the bears. :) I was thrilled. I doubt I will ever be that close to Panda Bears again. Here are some photographs of them.
