TRIMMING THE CHRISTMAS TREE :)

I don't think anyone thought it would take as long as it did to put the tree up and decorate it.  :)  It probably would have helped if we would have put it together correctly the first time around.  :)  Next year we will know!

We all went to see Harry Potter on Thursday Evening.  It was not as good as the last few movies.  I think the kids are getting too old.  I probably will rent the next one that comes out or stick with the books.  :)  Everyone is excited about King Kong coming out in December.  We are going to try and go see it on IMAX - probably in Nashville or St Louis.

Thursday Night...and so it begins



Taking the tree out of the box...it was in two boxes :)

Okay so we put the first three layers on and then
realized that this big piece in front of the picture is
actually the BASE of the tree.  OOOPS :)

Time to bring the ladder out...this thing is starting
to get pretty tall.  I was hoping we would not need
a larger ladder.  :)  It was CLOSE!

a tree could be so difficult - course if it wasn't umpteen
feet tall then that might have helped some.

Danielle was the on-site director of the project :) Notice
the piece in the lower right of the photo...THAT is
actually the bottom of the tree.  We didn't realize that
until it was too late!  :) eeek

This tree WAS pre-lit.  We ended up having to add
lights because some of the ones that came on the
tree didn't want to work.  I wasn't about to try and
find the one bulb that was burned out :)  This will make
it more fun when we have to take it down.  heh  It
ended up looking nice though...



Okay time to add the top :)  Now I had to get up on the
very top of the ladder.


WAY UP THERE!  A bit wobbly on the ladder. 
Tyler was cheering for me to fall or jump...I think he
was hoping for something exciting to happen.  heh



TAAA DA :)  The finished product!  Now for all the
trimmings.  :)  We did manage to finished this on
Thursday Night.  This was after we got back from
Harry Potter.
