Long day - started at 5 a.m. and ended at 8 p.m. We fed over 300 people again today. I drove the ERV on both routes. I ended up in a different portion of the city. We went down along the coastline on 90. This goes right along the ocean. The damage is unimaginable. It looks like someone dropped a nuclear bomb. There are no words that can fully describe it.
The people are AMAZING. There are signs on trees that say WE CAN MAKE IT - their houses are completely gone. Incredible spirit down here.
I am still very concerned about what is going to happen to tropical storm Wilma. She could become a hurricane tomorrow. The track is uncertain but she could enter the Gulf of Mexico.
I really enjoy driving the ERV and working in that function of the Red Cross. The sheltering is great but this is just as rewarding. I am glad I came back again for another round.

This is one of the casinos. It USED to be way out on the water. Now
it is way
up on land. This thing must weigh TONS AND TONS. It is sitting on
top
of a HOTEL. The hotel was flattened.

and facilities. The church is feeding hundreds of people per day.
