JUNE :) 2005!
June 14, 2005
We are now halfway through the month of June. ACK again.
Where does the time go? The year is almost HALF freakin over.
Unbelievable. I feel like I am on some kind of speeding train. It
never does slow down. It goes faster and faster and faster. I guess
that means we should do our best to make the best of life, enjoy as much of it
as we can, and act as if there may not be a tomorrow. Make some goals,
make some decisions, move forward, stop looking back, stop having regrets, think
positive, and just do it. There really is NO other way. Live life to
its fullest. That means that sometimes you have to just say "I am going to
make some changes and then MAKE those changes!" Stop spinning your wheels
and get some traction under there. If not then you are doomed to being
stuck in the mud day in and day out. Sure it won't always be easy.
Sure it won't always look like the smartest route to take. Sure you will
doubt yourself from time to time, but in the end you will be glad that you
finally did something for yourself!
Perhaps NIKE had something when they made the slogan "JUST DO IT"
Tuesday...
Trying to finish up all the photographs from my sisters
wedding :) LOTS of them to work with. Takes a long time to get them
fixed up. My other sister is down in Florida - DISNEY! The kids are
having a great time. I am glad they were able to go down there. I am
sure Tyler is having a blast on the rides. Danielle is prob having fun
shopping. lol
Red Cross HEROES meeting tonight.
Lots to do - as always! Trying to plan for my Florida
trip later this month. Destin, Florida :) for July 4th. I hope they
have good fireworks. I think everyone knows that i am a sucker for
fireworks. It has been awhile since my last show! Maybe we can get a
hurricane in Destin! lol Ok well some other people might not
appreciate that sentiment. I guess I will just have to go down later this
fall! I have never been in a full blow hurricane. It is on the
"goal" list for the fall! I am a true weather weenie.
At least the storms missed us last night. We did NOT
need the rainfall. Five inches since Wednesday is PLENTY for my yard.

Red Cross meeting
went well tonight. It was a heroes meeting. I am going to have to
start looking for Heroes. Heroes are people who will commit to raising
$1000 before March of 2006.
THURSDAY MORNING
SHADOW ANGEL PROJECT
RED CROSS HEROES
NEEDED :)
Ok everyone I need
some heroes and some help! I am looking for people to sign up for our
2006 "HEROES" campaign. To be a "hero" you need to raise at
LEAST $1000.00.
Not all heroes are
faster than a speeding bullet, or can leap tall buildings in a single bound!
The American Red Cross knows there is a little bit of hero in every person,
and I am hoping some of those heroes will surface by March, 2006!
I need some
commitments :) My goal is to put together seven teams. I have no
doubt that my goal can be achieved!
We already have:
1. Team Ballard
2. Team America
3. Shadow Angels
I am working on
Team Canada :)
I am looking for TEAM CANADA members :) I will be emailing some of you
about this and asking you to commit!
What is a red cross hero?
Anyone can be a hero! A person, a business, or an organization can
become a Red Cross Hero. Heroes agree to raise $1000 or more to support
the people served by this Chapter of the Red Cross. My chapter covers
most of Western Kentucky.
Many of you are
aware of some of the activities that I have been involved with over the past
year.
How would I
raise $1000?
A hero can do
almost anything to be a hero for the Red Cross. Think of an activity you
enjoy, and imagine ways that it could turn into a group effort to raise money!
Raffle a store
gift certificate
Hold a sporting event - bowling tournament, fun run, golf tournament, etc
Sell sandwiches or your "famous" recipe
Host a party and ask for donations
Collect and recycle aluminum drink cans
At your church or service club, take up a special collection
Any fun activity that is legal!
How would the
$1,000 I raise as a hero be utilized in my community?
It could purchase
most of the food, shelter, and clothing for a family whose home was destroyed
by a fire.
It could help replace needed medical items, such as life sustaining
prescriptions, following a disaster.
It could help fire victims make a transition to new housing by providing
utility deposits or the first month's rent.
It could help families quickly recover following disasters, thus avoiding
homelessness.
It could help families avoid the stress of dealing with life altering
catastrophic events.
It could provide training for local volunteers to enable them to
professionally respond in times of disaster.
It could provide community information services on topics such a Disaster
Preparedness.
It could provide information on key Red Cross services, such as "get to know
us before you need us" to military members and their families.
It could provide
emergency communications.
It could provide life saving training through Health and Safety classes.
This would include training people in CPR.
It could provide even more valuable services to our community!
JOIN THE HEROES CAMPAIGN TODAY! If you are interested in signing up then
please email me! I am looking for people to take on the challenge of
becoming their own "team" and I am also just looking for people who want to
donate to my team!
beaudodson@usawx.com
